Imagine structurally flawed for almost 85 years, ie intended to utiilse gears, etc to amke it swingable yet never did.

Rail deflected by over a metre but was not a break that wld cause the lights to turn red and so serve as a warning so that trains will slow to aby 25 km per hr.
