Some Singapore fatalities due to swirling currents .during Dragon Boat Race ...

Fact : May2Oct, River flows nthwds, affected by Mekong, then flow sthwards, lake-water moving strongly twd delta. Ever heard of this?

Wearing the orange life-vests helps as it is also easily spotted, but not if in deep waters (cliched but true!). Unless xtremely, hvywt helps to float, never mind being like a damsel in distress till the white knight in shining armor (serious coz nothing "sissy" abt wearing life-jackets)

However with them, can restrict movement and be thrown about by the waters against the pontoon and being trapped, as to render them useless? So if without can allow ppl to swim their way out of trouble, some having to detour by swimming down under, which cld be v dangerous, to get out from the pontoon. Water cld b 2 muddy to even see whether safely going to surface or otherwise, it wld be chaotic for all, who will steer them out of trouble? ...

Note the unseen hollow"catamaran" design of pontoon which created a devastating & deadly suction force.
